The Trump administration recently proposed rolling back fuel efficiency standards for new automobiles.
In the words of the musical group The Who, "Who are you, who, who, who, who. I really want to know." I really want to know who has given the Trump administration and embattled Environmental Protection Agency Secretary Scott Pruitt the notion that consumers do not want automobiles with better gas mileage?
Who are you?
Are you the consumer? Or perhaps you're the automobile manufacturers who want to save on the cost of developing ways to conserve fuel. Maybe you're the energy companies such as Exxon or BP, who's wish is to sell more gas at a higher price when demand increases.
My guess is that the latter two have the ear of the Trump administration. The guess the consumer has to take whatever the automobile companies give them.
Whoever is asking for these rule changes, please stop asking us to buy more gas at a higher price.
