Are you wishing for an environmentally friendly holiday? One with reduced carbon dioxide emissions and greenhouse gases, less particulate matter in the air, less smog?
Then give U.S. currency or hand-crafted toys or other products that say "Made in the USA” and not "Assembled in the US.”
Yes, an American worker did put Part A onto Part B for those assembled items, but were those parts manufactured under environmentally friendly standards?
Search online for pollutants from China and you will find dozens of articles discussing what is floating across the Pacific and settling on the West Coast and points inland. China and other third-world countries have considerably lower environmental and safety standards than in the USA, so when you look at the price, yes it is much cheaper manufactured and shipped from a third-world country, but they get to pollute more.
So don't take a deep breath before saying, "Ho! Ho! Ho! — Happy Holidays,” as you don't know what you are breathing in. Look for "Made in the USA" or other developed countries, with stricter environmental regulations.
