President Donald Trump’s decision to move our embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem not only panders to Israel’s Zionists but also to those evangelical Christians, most of them down South, who could be labeled "Christian Zionists."
The latter are fundamentalist interpreters of Biblical scripture and the prophecies in the Book of Revelations.
Those Israelis who long to consolidate their seat of government with their de facto cultural/religious capitol should be careful what they wish for.
Are they any different than fundamentalist Muslims refusing to separate their civic life from Islam?
