LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) -- Gabriel Moreno hit a run-scoring double in the sixth inning to give the GCL Blue Jays a 2-1 win over the GCL Tigers East on Thursday.

Steward Berroa scored on the play after he hit an RBI single, stole second and then went to third on a flyout.

The double by Moreno capped a two-run inning for the GCL Blue Jays that started when Berroa hit a single, scoring Warnel Valdez.

Franniel Polanco struck Luis Laurencio out with runners on first and second to end the game for his first save of the season.

In the bottom of the fourth, GCL Tigers East took the lead on a single by David Noworyta that scored Jorge Ynirio.

GCL Blue Jays left-hander Rafael Monsion (3-1) picked up the win after allowing one run on eight hits over five innings. Opposing starter Jayce Vancena (0-3) took the tough loss in the Gulf Coast League game after giving up two runs and six hits over six innings.

Several GCL Tigers East chipped in at the plate, as five players had at least two hits.
