University of Wisconsin cornerback Nick Nelson announced late Saturday night that he will enter the NFL Draft.

The junior revealed his decision in the Badgers' locker room following UW's 34-24 victory over Miami in the Orange Bowl.

Nelson said he received a second-round grade from the NFL Draft Advisory Board and that his evaluation indicated his 40-yard dash time would likely play a major factor in where he's selected.

"After praying with my family and just talking, over time, I just felt like that was the best decision to make," Nelson said. "I know that, if it's top three rounds, you might as well go. I don't think I could help it coming back to school. The opportunity presented itself, and I just went."

Badgers right guard Beau Benzschawel announced following the Orange Bowl that he'll return to UW for his senior season.

Benzschawel, a three-year starter, received a return-to-school grade from the advisory board.

"It's just based on how good I think I can be in the future," Benzschawel said of his decision. "I want to be a better player before I take that next step, and obviously I've got a lot of work to do.

"I was going to be a Day 2, Day 3 guy, so I just wanted to make sure that I can increase my chances of next year to be higher."

Left tackle Michael Deiter and inside linebacker T.J. Edwards, both juniors, said Saturday they have not made a decision about the NFL yet.

Both received return-to-school evaluations from the advisory board, which grades players as either first round, second round or return to school.
