Badgers junior Sophia Shaver scored two power-play goals on Saturday to rally UW to a tie at Minnesota Duluth.

The University of Wisconsin women's hockey team's stay away from No. 1 in the national rankings was brief.

The Badgers returned to the top spot in the Division I women's poll Monday after losing a four-month hold on No. 1 a week earlier.

Clarkson, which was the top-ranked team last week, lost at Princeton last Friday.

UW, which got 12 of 15 first-place votes, took five of six points from a series at Minnesota Duluth last weekend after getting a victory and shootout win. The Friday victory clinched the team's third straight Western Collegiate Hockey Association regular-season championship.

In all, the Badgers have been No. 1 in 16 of 18 polls this season.

UW hosts No. 7 Minnesota on Friday and Saturday to close the regular season.
