North Carolina's Sean May tries to knock a pass away from Wisconsin's Alando Tucker during the second half of the NCAA East Regional in Syracuse, N.Y Sunday, March 27, 2005.

University of Wisconsin all-time leading men’s basketball scorer Alando Tucker has been hired as the athletic department’s director of student-athlete engagement.

Tucker will work with incoming student-athletes and their families to enhance how they acclimate to life at UW and in the community, in addition to sharing information about and using UW resources, a news release said.

“I’m extremely excited about this opportunity,” Tucker said in the release. “I always wanted to come back to the university in some capacity. I thought this would be a perfect fit for me.”

Tucker returns to Madison 11 years after his final game with Badgers, for whom he scored 2,217 points. He played professionally for 10 years, including three years in the NBA.
