Netters fall to Wausau East, Onalaska

It was two losses and a rainout last week for the Tomah High School girls tennis team.

The Timberwolves dropped a 4-3 nonconference decision at Wausau West Monday and lost at home to Mississippi Valley Conference rival Onalaska 6-1 Thursday.

A Tuesday MVC contest at La Crosse Aquinas was rained out and rescheduled for Sept. 30.

Tomah swept the bottom three singles matches at Wausau with Taylor Dworak, McKenna Heinz and Alyssa Decorah claiming victories for the Timberwolves.

Heinz was the lone Tomah winner against Onalaska. It was her second straight MVC match that went three sets. She improved her season record to 9-1.

Tomah’s overall record is 6-4. Its MVC record is 2-3.

The Timberwolves host Onalaska Luther today (Monday) in a nonconference match at LaGrange Elementary School. They head to Altoona for another nonconference match Tuesday.
