Wisconsin TNT girls hockey wins two at Rochester

The opening weekend of Wisconsin TNT U14 girls hockey was a success with the team winning two on the road versus Rochester Cannons U14.

Tomah won the first game 7-0. With 4:18 left in the first period of the first game, Wisconsin TNT's Kaytlin Johnson put the season’s first score on the board. Johnson followed with two more goals to earn her the team’s first hat trick of 2013-14.

Other scores were made by Khloe Spors with two and Taylor Gular and Baileigh Johnson each with one. Ashley Overlien dished off two assists with one each for Baileigh Johnson, Abbie Johnson and Olivia Waddell. Mollie Lelonek, Wisconsin TNT's goalie, posted her first shutout of the season.

The second game of the day was a 6-1 victory for Wisconsin TNT. Six different players — Overlien, Abbie Johnson, Addison Sheldon, Baileigh Johnson, Kaytlin Johnson and Waddell — accounted for the team’s six goals. Overlien, Abbie Johnson, Sheldon, Baileigh Johnson, Kaytlin Johnson, Molly Larsen and Savanna Duckett all delivered assists. Lelonek was the winning goaltender.

The team is coached by head coach Chris Johnson, along with assistants Kevin Gular and Amanda Spangler.

The team will play a doubleheader in Waupaca this Saturday followed by a doubleheader in Black River Falls on Sunday versus Central Wisconsin Storm.
