The second-ranked Viterbo University volleyball team (10-0) extended extended its season-opening winning streak to 10 by defeating a pair of opponents in the V-Hawk Holiday Inn Invitational at Beggs Gymnasium on Friday.

Viterbo started with a 25-15, 26-24, 25-22 victory over Aquinas College (5-4). Senior Amelia Grahn set up the success with 43 assists with 19 of them turned into kills by Natalie Geidel. Miah Garant added eight kills.

Grahn also hit the floor with 15 digs. Baylee Gross totalled 13 digs, while Rachel Frankowski added 11.

Grahn added another 37 assists in a 25-13, 25-10, 25-22 win over Olivet Nazarene (5-5). Geidel led the team again with 11 kills followed by Siera Skow with 10.Gross added 11 digs.

Augsburg Invitational

MINNEAPOLIS — The Eagles, ranked 16th in NCAA Division III, split two matches during the first day of the Augsburg Invitational.

The Eagles (5-2) opened with a 25-19, 25-18, 26-24 win over Augsburg before falling to Northwestern 25-23, 25-23, 25-21.

Stephanie Henk had 17 kills and Maddie Entinger 32 assists against Augsburg. Henk had 10 kills, Entinger 27 assists and Halle Barnabo 14 digs against Northwestern.
