West Salem High School senior Jack Gorniak accepted accepted a scholarship offer to play hockey at the University of Wisconsin today.

Gorniak, who helped West Salem/Bangor qualify for the WIAA state tournament last season, has been a major contributor since his freshman season.

He enters his final high school season with 77 goals and 115 assists for West Salem/Bangor, which was 22-4-1 last season and is 60-15-1 since he joined the team.

Gorniak, a 5-foot-10 forward, chose Wisconsin over a list of offers that included Cornell, Mankato and Ohio State.
