Viroqua High School graduate Mitch Stalsberg, who also played baseball at Winona State University, has settled in comfortably with the Connecticut Tigers of the Class A New York-Penn League.

Stalsberg, a left-hander and 23rd-round draft choice by the Detroit Tigers in 2017, is holding down a 0.77 ERA with 15 strikeouts to go with eight hits and four walks allowed in 11⅔ innings entering Wednesday’s game against Batavia. Stalsberg has allowed one earned run and pitched in five games — all in relief.

Holmen graduate Jeren Kendall was batting .228 with nine home runs, 29 RBI, 15 doubles and two triples for the Class A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (Los Angeles Dodgers) of the California League entering Tuesday. Kendall, a center fielder, has stolen 26 bases in 34 attempts.

Holmen graduate taylor Kohlwey entered Tuesday with a .235 batting average, three home runs and 10 RBI for the Class AA San Antonio Missions (San Diego Padres) of the Texas League. Kohlwey also hit seven doubles and a triple in his first 36 games after being promoted from Class A Lake Elsinore.

Central graduate Mitch Ghelfi is on the seven-day disabled list for the Class AA Mobile BayBears (Los Angeles Angels) of the Southern League. The catcher only played on two games before heading to the DL and is batting .125 (1-for-8).
