Bangor High School’s Luke Reader and Caleb Miedema and Westby’s Ryan Daines were selected as two-way players to lead local representation on Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-Region teams released Tuesday.
Reader and Miedema are preparing to play Abbotsford in a WIAA Division 7 state semifinal in Chippewa Falls, Wis., on Friday. Reader was picked as a running back and outside linebacker, while Miedema was selected as a defensive back and tight end. Daines was picked as an outside linebacker and fullback.
Also selected offensively were linemen Kyle Burkhardt and Caleb Butler of Holmen and Nathan Riehle of G-E-T, running backs Drew Becker (Holmen) and Ben Behan (G-E-T), quarterback Noah Skifton (Onalaska), wide receivers Greg Kohler (Central) and Ethan Anderson (Black River Falls) and tight end/fullback Cory Check (Prairie du Chien).
Selected defensively were lineman Garrett Krueger (Bangor), defensive end Tatum Grass (Holmen), inside linebacker Matthew Bigley (West Salem), outside linebacker Christian Kapanke (Logan) and defensive backs Ryan Hannah (Viroqua), Craig Newsome Jr. (Holmen) and Garrett Olson (Logan).
Logan’s CJ Siegel was picked as a utility player, and West Salem’s Ryan Beirne and Melrose-Mindoro’s Victor Ponterio were selected as kickers. Landon Lockington of Melrose-Mindoro made the team as a punter.
