The Aquinas High School volleyball team, which is tied with Holmen for the MVC lead with one match to go, received a No. 1 regional seed for the upcoming WIAA Division 3 tournament series.

The Blugolds (10-1 MVC), who host Sparta on Thursday, will open at home against eighth-seeded Brookwood on Oct. 16. Melrose-Mindoro, which leads the Dairtyland Conference with a 9-0 record, is the No. 2 seed in that eight-team group of the Division 3 field.

Arcadia is third, Onalaska Luther fourth, Cashton sixth and Westby seventh.

Holmen (10-1 MVC), which hosts Onalaska on Thursday, is seeded fourth in Division 1. The Vikings will host 13th-seeded Tomah in a regional semifinal on Oct. 18.

Onalaska is seeded 10th and Central 11th for the first round. The Hilltoppers play at No. 10 Baraboo, and the Red Raiders are at No. 6 DeForest.

West Salem, which will try and extend its Coulee Conference winning streak to 36 matches when hosting Black River Falls on Thursday, is seeded No. 1 in Division 2.

The Panthers will host either fifth-seeded Sparta or fourth-seeded Logan in a regional semifinal on Oct. 18.

The Rangers and Spartans play at Logan on Oct. 16. Third-seeded G-E-T also hosts sixth-seeded Viroqua that night with the winner traveling to second-seeded Black River Falls on Oct. 18.

The top Division 4 seeded went to Bangor, which hosts 13th-seeded Gilmanton on Oct. 16, Blair-Taylor is sixth, and Coulee Christian/Providence Academy and De Soto are both 15th in different groupings.
