ONALASKA — A two-run double in the third inning broke things open and helped Westby hold on to a win against Onalaska.

Kenny Berg’s two-bagger gave Westby a 6-1 lead in the third after Onalaska’s Nick Pica had cut into the deficit with a single in the bottom of the first.

Gunnar Hanson went 3-for-3 with a double, while Carter Bergdahl added two hits for Westby (2-1).

Christian Oliver had two hits for Onalaska (5-2).

PRAIRIE DU CHIEN 7, HOLMEN 6: After falling behind 5-2, Prairie du Chien (1-0) roared back with five runs over the final three innings, including Cory Check’s winning RBI single in the seventh.

Gavin Gillitzer shut the door in the bottom half to earn the save.

Holmen dropped to 1-3.

TOMAH 12, NORTH CRAWFORD 6: Tomah found itself down 5-0 after the top of the first inning, but it knew how to answer.

Tomah scored 12 unanswered runs, including six in the first, to run away with a win.

Kyle Kroener went 2-for-3 with two doubles and four RBI, while Joe Hesse added two hits and three RBI.

LA CRESCENT 13-14, NORTH STARS 0-2: La Crescent picked up two one-sided victories by scoring seven runs in the fourth inning of the first game and nine in the final two innings of the second.

Laudon Poellinger hit a home run, drove in three runs and pitched a no-hitter in the first game. Poellinger struck out three and walked two in tossing all four innings for La Crescent.

Sam Wieser was a combined 5-for-9 with a double, six RBI and four runs scored for La Crescent, which had 24 hits in the doubleheader. Bryce Weymiller doubled twice and drove in two runs in Game 2. Hayden Hoiness batted second in the order and scored six runs for La Crescent.

Andy Metcalf had two hits for the North Stars in Game 2.
