La Crosse Aquinas grad Bronson Koenig hosts basketball camp in hometown

Former University of Wisconsin and Aquinas High School basketball star Bronson Koenig talks with participants at his Bronson Koenig Shooting Academy during a question and answer session this summer at the Mathy Center Boys & Girls Club at Viterbo University.

The Milwaukee Bucks requested waivers for former Aquinas High School and Wisconsin point guard Bronson Koenig on Thursday.

Koenig, who was signed to a two-way contract in July, will be available for the other 29 NBA franchises to claim at his existing salary for the next 48 hours. If he is not claimed, he becomes a free agent and can negotiate a new contract.

Koenig was expected to play for Milwaukee’s new G-League team, The Wisconsin Herd, which is based in Oshkosh. Koenig averaged 5.2 points and 1.0 rebounds per game in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas this year.
