Behind another strong performance from quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers won a slugfest on Sunday night, beating the Kansas City Chiefs 31-24 at Arrowhead Stadium to improve to 7-1 on the season.

Tom Oates: Packers' grit, resourcefulness on full display in hard-fought win over shorthanded Chiefs
Despite Kansas City being without six starters, including MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Packers' 31-24 victory over the stubborn Chiefs was as impressive as any they have had in this season of surprises.
Aaron Rodgers threw for 305 yards and three touchdowns, two of them to Aaron Jones on a big night for the Green Bay running back, and the Packers held off backup quarterback Matt Moore and the Kansas City Chiefs 31-24 on Sunday night.
Packers' third-year running back Aaron Jones has 34 receptions for 355 yards and three touchdowns through eight games.
The 8-0 Patriots received 11 of 12 first-place votes for 383 points in balloting Tuesday by media members who regularly cover the NFL.
