The Three Rivers Roleo announces that professional log rolling is returning to the Coulee Region. The ninth annual Roleo will take place at the Great River Landing, near downtown Onalaska, Saturday, July 9, beginning at noon. For the second straight year, the Roleo will be broadcast on Fox Sports Wisconsin.
More than 20 of the top professional rollers from around the country are scheduled to compete at the Roleo, including four-time Women's World Champion Shana Verstegen of Madison, who's been featured on multiple national outlets, including "CNN News," as well as ESPN'S "Sports Center" and ESPN Radio's "Mike & Mike in the Morning." Among those competing on the men's side are the second seed in the United States Log Rolling Association Garrick Birdsong of Onalaska and the fifth seed, Carl Rick of La Crosse.
The Three Rivers Roleo is open to the public and is free of charge. Gates will open at the Great River Landing, 111 Irvin St., Onalaska, at 10 a.m., and the pro event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Spectators are encouraged to bring chairs. Food will be available on location from Shenanigans and adult beverages from Rotary After Hours.
