A Sparta man was arrested for drunk driving after he and another person were injured in a traffic crash Wednesday in the town of Adrian.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, a 1998 Chevy 1500 truck driven by Andrew Sanmann, 32, Sparta was westbound on Hwy. 16 shortly after 10 a.m. when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with an eastbound 2003 Chevy Malibu driven by Brock E. Brabham, 25, Tomah.
Sanmann fled the scene after the crash but was later apprehended for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and other charges.
Brabham was transported to the Sparta hospital by Sparta Area Ambulance Service. Sanmann was transported by a police vehicle. Brabham was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. It is unknown if Sanmann was wearing a seat belt. The crash remains under investigation.
