Save the date of Saturday, May 5, for a fun and educational program we are bringing to the library in partnership with the Viroqua Food Co-op. Join Inga Witscher, host of the Wisconsin Public Television series “Around the Farm Table,” for an educational and entertaining cooking demonstration. Inga will be teaching us how to make a Smorgastrata, a Scandinavian-style sandwich cake. It’s the perfect addition to your next party! Saturday, May 5, is also the first day of the Farmers Market, which is conveniently located next to the library in the Western Technical College parking lot. We hope you can find time to join us for what we are sure will be a fun program.

In the children’s department our March calendar of events are printed and ready for you to pick up. Coming up yet this month we are offering three events that support “screen free” activities. We are pleased to be able to partner with Viroqua Area Schools and Pleasant Ridge Waldorf School to bring high quality family programs to the community the week of March 19. We also have a dance party, a different activity every Friday and three story-time activities every week. Our complete calendar of events is also posted on the library website.

The Viroqua Area Foundation Art Wall is featuring art work from students in the Viroqua Elementary School. The students are under the direction of art teacher Brenda Johnson. The beautiful collection is on display during March as the Council for Art Education declares this month as Youth Art Month. Stop in and show your support for these young and aspiring artists.

We still have state and federal tax forms available on a table at the entrance to the library. We are not reordering forms, so they are available on a first-come first-serve basis. If we do run out of a form you need we can help you print forms from the IRS website at

To stay up-to-date on everything happening at the library like the “Viroqua Library” Facebook page, visit our website at or visit us in person at 205 S. Rock Ave. in Viroqua.
