Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision at about 7:30 a.m. Monday, May 14, in the village of Stoddard.
Joshua W. Guy, 27, of Holmen, was operating a vehicle southbound on North Main Street, just north of Center Street, in Stoddard. The Guy vehicle collided with the rear of a vehicle operated by Alexandria L. Achammer, 24, of La Crosse. The Achammer vehicle was stopped on the road, yielding to pedestrians in a designated and marked crosswalk, according to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.
Achammer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse by Tri-State Ambulance. She was treated and released. Guy also sustained non-life-threatening injuries, but refused medical treatment.
The pedestrians, two school-age children from Stoddard were not injured.
Seat belts were in use by both operators and the airbags deployed in the Guy vehicle.
The Stoddard-Bergen Volunteer Fire Department and Stoddard First Responders also assisted at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
