Curtis G. Huwald, 35, Cashton, was referred to the district attorney for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property after an April 22 incident in the Monroe County Jail.
According to the report, Huwald became agitated after police tried to retrieve a wedding ring that was dropped off for him at the jail. He allegedly dared jail staff to “come lock me down” and ripped off his shirt in a way that jail staff interpreted as preparation for a fight. The report says he repeatedly bounced on the balls of his feet and yelled, “Come get me.’” He stopped resisting when police pointed a Taser at him.
After Huwald was secured in detention, jail staff noticed a damaged window door, which was allegedly caused by Huwald tossing the ring.
